On the 15th October the Expedition Team launched their website, fact sheet and a short film documentary attracting some media coverage. Through such exposure it is hoped that an improved understanding of the Labyrinth will be achieved, challenging the dominance of Knossos in the popular imagination. Each of the sites we visited – Knossos, the Labyrinthos Cave near Gortyn and the natural cave at Skotino – have their own claim to be associated with the Labyrinth. Ultimately the question of the location of the 'true' labyrinth will probably prove fruitless, but we hope to have drawn attention to the parallel story of the changing perceptions of the labyrinth story over the course of history, which is interesting and important in its own right. 20th October 2009: Another article in Ta Nea (Google Translation) 17th October 2009: Article in the Daily Mail 16th October 2009: Featured in 'Heritage Key' Blog 16th October 2009: Article in the Independent While on the expedition, our journey into the Labyrinth attracted media attention in Crete and beyond: |
